    ** SEASONAL POSITION - TEMPORARY**

    As a Bartender with Fairmont Hotels, you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service of Acqua, our pool area. Your warm, attentive guest service and passion for mixology is worth raising a glass to!

    This position will have direct contact will all guests. The bartender will make drinks, take, and deliver food and drink orders in a prompt and courteous manner while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency. The bartender must enjoy working outside in a fast-paced atmosphere. This person must be highly motivated, energetic and possess excellent and polished communication skills.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITES Include but are not limited to the following:

    • Uphold the Fairmont values and mission statement while performing all tasks

    • Adhere to all company policies and procedures

    • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

    • Provide the highest quality service to all guests at all times, by instilling the company philosophy.

    • Responsible for being the point person to meet and greet all guests and visitors entering the pool area

    • Responsible for escorting guests to their preferred area of pool when required

    • Prepare and set up the bar as per requirements

    • Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way

    • Follow outlet policies, procedures, opening/closing checklists and service standards

    • Assist with ordering, restocking, and complete the inventory list.

    • Assist with bar inventory at month-end

    • Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions

    • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods

    • Take orders, answer questions, and make recommendations for menu listed products.

    • Mix drinks and control the beverage stock as per guidelines

    • Serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations.

    • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of bar top, tables, and pool area

    • Responsible for correctly handling cash, credit and comp procedures and properly completing paperwork

    • Assist in keeping pool deck clean, towel pick-up, placing towels on chairs, and some bussing required

    • Facilitate bookings of certain sections when required

    • Participate actively in the resolution of guest concerns.

    • Assist guests with ADA equipment (pool lift chair and wheelchair lift)

    • Use appropriate upselling techniques.

    • Understand the processes of delivery and removal of all product and equipment.

    • Handle all guest checks according to Hotel policy.

    • Maintain pars and equipment as needed to successfully accomplish all service tasks.

    • Complete side work as assigned by Manager.

    • Engage and genuinely interact with guests while anticipating their needs

    • Follow all hotel standards, LQA standards, and Forbes 5 Stars standards while conducting self-audits to ensure 100% compliance on all interactions with guests.

    • Work well with others as a team

    • Assist in filling in at other F&B areas and/or outlets as needed

    • Display a congenial appearance and is well groomed at all times.

    • Maintain regular and predictable attendance

    • Perform other duties as assigned or needed

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Prior bartending experience with a minimum of 1 year in a similar environment.

    • Previous point of sale system experience

    • Requires excellent and polished communication skills

    • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.

    • Must possess basic math skills and the ability to use a calculator.

    • Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.

    • Must have superior guest service abilities as well as a complete understanding of California serving guidelines.

    • Possess a proven track record for guest satisfaction

    • Possess a strong sense of urgency

    • Display a pleasant and cheerful disposition

    • Maintain a high level of integrity

    • Display a confident and professional appearance at all times and always meet company grooming standards

    • Adapt in difficult situations with problem-solving abilities, and make decisions when necessary

    • Show eagerness and capacity to learn

    • Highly responsible & reliable

    • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
