Job Description

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour.

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am).

• Performed indoors in a poultry processing/packaging environment. Temperature levels will vary depending on where in the facility the worker is stationed. Some work is performed in.
• Large refrigerators or freezers and the temperature is much lower in these areas. Due to the use water during the sanitation of equipment and processing operations the humidity and overall moisture levels are high in most indoor processing areas.
• All workers are required to wear the appropriate PPE needed to perform the duties of their respective position. This may include but is not limited to bump caps, hairnets, rubber boots, ear protection, protective gloves, and eye protection.
• Tools used in this position will vary depending on the placement of the worker.

• Regular, dependable attendance is an essential function of this position.

GRADER:

• Re-hangs the chicken on overhead shackles for aging and cut-up or bag fryers.
• Visually observes chicken for bruises, grades each chicken on the production line and re-hangs chickens separating them based on the overall quality of the chicken.
• Other duties as assigned.

STACKER LOADER SCANNER:

• Remove cases off the rollers and stack them according to the numbers on the labels on pallets.
• Correctly scan boxes and pallets with scan gun.
• Other duties as assigned.

REHANGER:

• Responsible for hanging the birds and making sure all birds are hung correctly on the shackle conveyor line.
• May lift chickens with unilateral neutral forearm rotation and a lateral claw grasp between the thigh and body.
• Chickens are lifted between a height of 39 inches (height of the conveyor) and up to a height of 52 inches (height where the bird is placed in the shackles). This requires a 14-horizontal reach (measured from the center axis of the hips).

Qualifications

• Most positions require standing eight (8) hours or more on a concrete floor.
• Must be able to perform rapid and repetitive movement and grasping of the hand.
• Must be able to work in a cold, damp environment.
• Many positions required lifting up to 85 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to push/pull up to 85 pounds.
• Some positions require repeated bending and stooping.
• Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check.
