Summary
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Pool Repair Technician to join our team. This role is essential for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining both residential and commercial pools, ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning safely and efficiently. The Pool Repair Technician will work with a range of pool systems, including pumps, filters, heaters, and plumbing, to deliver high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and Repair Pool Equipment : Identify issues with pool equipment such as pumps, motors, heaters, filtration systems, lighting, and plumbing. Perform repairs or replace parts as necessary.
- Troubleshoot Electrical and Mechanical Issues : Diagnose and resolve electrical or mechanical problems in pool equipment, including motors, wiring, and control systems.
- System Upgrades and Installation : Install, upgrade, or replace pool equipment, including pumps, heaters, filters, automation systems, and saltwater chlorinators, ensuring that all components are in optimal working order.
- Plumbing Repairs : Repair or replace pool plumbing systems, including pipes, valves, skimmers, and drains. Address leaks and other water circulation issues.
- Pool Leak Detection : Conduct thorough leak detection and repair services to identify and resolve water loss issues within the pool or plumbing system.
- Chemical and Water System Maintenance : While primarily focused on repairs, provide support for chemical systems, offering troubleshooting guidance for water chemistry issues that may affect pool equipment.
- Client Consultation : Offer expert advice to clients on maintaining pool systems and preventing future issues. Provide recommendations on necessary repairs, equipment upgrades, and regular maintenance.
- Safety Compliance : Ensure that all repairs are performed in compliance with industry safety standards, local regulations, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Customer Service : Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients, explaining repair work performed, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of all repairs, including detailed reports on equipment issues, parts used, and time spent. Update clients’ service history as necessary.
- Emergency Services : Be available for emergency repair requests, including equipment breakdowns and urgent plumbing or electrical issues that require immediate attention.
Qualifications
- Experience : Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in pool repair or a related field (swimming pool industry, plumbing, HVAC, or electrical work).
- Technical Skills : Solid understanding of pool equipment, including pumps, heaters, filtration systems, plumbing, and electrical systems. Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex pool issues.
- Certifications : Pool & Spa Operator (CPO) certification is preferred. Additional certifications in plumbing, electrical work, or HVAC are a plus.
- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve pool-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Physical Requirements : Ability to lift heavy equipment, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, and lifting for extended periods.
- Customer Service : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering top-tier customer service.
- Valid Driver’s License : A clean, valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required, as travel to various job sites is necessary.
- Attention to Detail : Ability to document and track repairs, equipment installations, and service history with a high degree of accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience working with advanced pool automation and smart pool systems.
- Knowledge of water chemistry and its impact on pool equipment performance.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing service role.
Working Conditions :
- Travel to various residential and commercial properties within the service area.
- Work in diverse environments, including outdoor pools, indoor facilities, and in varying weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when necessary, especially for emergency repairs.
