JOB DESCRIPTION:

Exciting opportunity to participate in the ground floor of PowerBlock and Home Fitness Equipment. As PowerBlock's Product Manager you will manage the growth and optimization of our product portfolio by implementing strategic objectives in the “go to market” process. Responsible for product updates, innovation, design, and manufacturing. Quality oversight included.

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: The goal of product manager is as a key member in the design, manufacture and introduction of new products to market or items into the PowerBlock list of offerings. Responsible for product innovation, design, and manufacture. Including product materials and necessary compliance markings. Quality oversight included.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Work closely with Product Development, Marketing and Sales.
2. Professional customization, and marketing integration.
3. Improving existing product designs through market research and analysis.
4. Assists with construction of prototypes and pre-production manufacturing.
5. Tests prototypes to verify product reliability while playing a key role in the R&D process.
6. Track the improvement of quality through QC reporting and investigation.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
8. Leads new product market launch, creation of product manual material, carton design

COMPETENCIES

3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Knowledge and experience in various manufacturing processes, materials selections, and product testing. To include: Injection Molding, Metal Stamping, Powder Coating, Welding, Laser Fabrication, 3D Printing, Automation.
5. Can read and understand production/engineering drawings.
6. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

1. Analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design.
2. Sourcing or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs.
3. Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
4. Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
5. Determining how a system should function while maintaining awareness of changes in market conditions, organizational initiatives and operations will affect outcomes.
6. Identifying metrics and using indicators of system performance to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the company.

MEASUREMENT OF EFFECTIVENESS

1. Timeliness of product updates
2. Product Quality – reporting and analysis with proactive solutions.
3. Success of product launches based on ‘go to market’ strategies

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY; No direct supervisory responsibilities

WORK ENVIRONMENT; This job operates in an office setting

PHYSICAL DEMANDS; Employee may be required to lift upwards of 55 pounds at times for handling of product.

TRAVEL; Travel will be limited but some travel likely to coordinate with design team and factories.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Bachelor’s degree or more in Engineering, Management
2. Fitness Enthusiast
3. Past work experience in Engineering, Product Management, Design or Development
4. Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, and fitness industry
5. Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
6. Proficiency with quality, Microsoft office suite, and SolidWorks (CAD) software
