USPI Medical Park Tower Surgery Center __ is seeking a motivated Pre-Admissions Testing RN to join our team. We have 5 OR rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in General, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Urology. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call.
Job Description: The Pre-Admission Testing Nurse (PAT RN) may assume the following PAT responsibilities: contact (by way of telephone, text, and email) all patients prior to surgery to assess medical and medication history, review for appropriate lab, x-ray, EKG orders, obtain anesthesiologist clearance when necessary, and provide pre-admission patient teaching. The RN can expect to assess health history of adult patients, including the older adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients. The RN may send patients for laboratory testing or clearance prior to surgery as ordered/required. Preferably the PAT RN would be open to stepping in clinically, if needed, but not required. Other duties, as assigned by the manager.
