    Sonnets Academy is seeking an experienced full time Associate Lead Teacher to join our PreK Program for 4s & 5s.

    Our Associate Lead Teacher is responsible for supporting our curriculum lessons in alignment with our developmental curricular goals and fostering open communication with parents, consistently about progress, schedules, and individual achievement. This position works under supervision and mentorship of the Lead Teacher of the PreK Classroom in collaboration with the Director, Education Coordinator and the other members of the PreK Program. You’ll help provide a structured classroom environment with clear expectations, play-based curriculum and a social-emotional focus.

    Full Time Position

    $44,000 - 48,500 per year Salary dependent on experience and level of education.

    Scheduled Work Hours:

    8:15-5:15 with an hour long lunch break.

    Once a week, you will have an hour from 3:00-4:00 for scheduled plan time.

    Once a week, you will have a 30-minute meeting with your lead teacher, administration, or your age group team.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum to foster a play based and structured environment

    Maintain a safe, organized classroom that supports each child’s independent learning

    Assess and report using anecdotal notes and recap narratives throughout the year that effectively and accurately communicates the child’s progress

    Meet the needs of the whole child and support the social and emotional growth of all children

    Supervise, mentor and instruct Assistant Teacher for the purpose of providing an effective and efficient classroom environment and addressing the needs of individual students in collaboration with Lead Teacher.

    Attend and participate in age group team collaborative meetings, whole staff meetings, classroom team meetings and cross age group team meetings

    Qualifications and Skills

    Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related area

    Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for 4s and 5s

    Must be a team player and eager to work with others

    Excellent organization skills

    Positive and proactive communication skills

    One or more years of professional experience in a preschool or prek classroom

    Must meet and follow all City and State licensing requirements
