Responsibilities: • As a Pre-Litigation Paralegal in Lafayette, LA, US, you will be responsible for communicating with clients via telephone to obtain treatment updates and necessary information. • Maintain professional and regular communication with clients to keep them informed about the progress of their case and address any questions they may have. • Engage in correspondence with insurance adjusters to discuss claims and policy details. • Ensure timely and accurate exchange of information with insurance companies. • Assist clients in coordinating their medical care by scheduling appointments and following up on treatments. • Request medical records and bills, verifying medical balances to ensure accurate information and treatment progress. • Compile medical records and bills to be included in settlement demand packages. • Organize and maintain client files by scanning medical records, bills, and other relevant documents. • Prepare various legal documents and settlement demand letters with precision and completeness. • Collaborate with attorneys and legal assistants to prepare comprehensive settlement demand packages for insurance companies. • Keep the case management system updated regularly to monitor and track the progress of each client's case efficiently. • Work closely with attorneys and legal assistants to promptly address any issues and ensure cases move forward without delays. • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure efficient management of all aspects of the case. • Address any emerging issues and work together to keep the case on track. Qualifications: • The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience managing personal injury cases before litigation. • Previous experience in personal injury cases is required. • A 2-year degree and certification as a Paralegal are strongly preferred for this role. • Must have a background in drafting legal documents. • Proficiency in legal processes and document handling is essential. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines consistently. • Comfortable using computer programs like spreadsheets, word processing, and case management software. • Strong multitasking abilities and self-motivation are key. • Being tech-savvy is highly advantageous.
