JOB SUMMARY
MONDAY-FRIDAY 8AM-5PM
This position is a production manager/supervisor responsible for overseeing and supervising the day-to-day operations of the inside receiving function which includes the management and supervision of staff encompassing two part-time shifts. In addition, this manager is directly responsible for performing administrative tasks that support the receiving process including finalizing vendor payments, managing vendor inquiries, and finalizing all PO’s / Blinds after receiving is complete.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the staff in the receiving room which includes all receivers and receiving support
- Ensure efficient and productive workflow
- Ensure staff has necessary resources and tools to perform jobs
- Adjust scheduling as necessary to meet output demands
- Provide escalation support for problems and issues beyond the control or ability of support and receiving staff
- Address personnel situations both positive and negative using proper management protocol and management tools and resources available (e.g. Management Reporting system, Human Resource personnel, etc.)
- Ensure ongoing and up to date training and understanding of attention to detail necessary to do job by all staff; ensure proper training of new staff as they are hired (e.g. formal photography training, etc.)
Be responsible for and manage to overall goal attainment and production objectives for the managed shifts
- Assign PO’s/Blinds to a person or line
- Establish a “complete by” date
- Review on a daily basis all overdue PO’s/Blinds regarding receiving and payments
- Review production metrics and act on them accordingly
Review all PO’s/Blinds after receiving is complete. Verify the following:
- all bad or incomplete descriptions have been fixed
- discount codes and multipliers have been added to every item
- items are marked “obsolete” where appropriate
- part number are properly entered as the stocking version with proper punctuation
- all items are properly approved
Manage vendors who supply goods to the receiving process
- Authorize payment to vendors in a timely manner on a daily basis after collecting finished PO’s/Blinds from the receivers. Ensure all changes are correct and accurate. Contact vendors if there is a problem where we cannot pay in full
- Respond to and follow-up on all vendor inquiries, noting all contact subject matter to the note field on the PO/Blind.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Centralized Receiving Supervisor has direct supervisory responsibility over the surplus receiving staff which includes Centralized Receiver Support personnel and Centralized Receivers. He/she will work closely with the Centralized Receiving Manager and counterpart Assistant Centralized Receiving Manager assigned to opposite shifts to ensure continuity between shifts and smooth operations. He/she may be required to fill in for the Centralized Receiving Manager and perform overall management duties in the Centralized Receiving Manager’s absence. ” Positions with direct reports are responsible to hold safety-training sessions (currently once a month) with said employees. Subject matter will be distributed at the monthly managers’ staff meeting. Subsequent to training sessions, managers must forward a confirming Training report to each direct report using the Management Reporting System.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Detailed knowledge of industrial automation products as indicated by previous experience in sales, purchasing, engineering, repair or inventory control
- Ability to manage in a production environment
- Computer literate

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a hands on management job that may often require getting involved in and doing the actual tasks performed by all personnel in the department and may involve various physical demands including:
- climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
- Frequent walking
- Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion
- Lifting requirements include frequent lifting of up to 100 pounds and continuous lifting of up to 10 pounds
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associates degree and two years supervisory experience in a similar production environment, or additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.
