Prelicensed Mental Health Therapist (Private Group Practice)
Benefits:
Flexible schedule
Minnesota Center for Psychology is a group private practice clinic in St. Paul that offers mental health services to children, adolescents and adults. Established by clinicians in 2009, we are committed to providing the best quality care for our clients in an environment that embraces integrity, respect, hope, health, healing, wellness and learning. MCP offers the flexibility and independence to create or continue your own practice while being part of a professional community and receiving administrative support. MCP’s goal is to help people create and live the life they want. We believe this starts with helping clinicians create the practices they want and that clients benefit when their mental health provider experiences professional fulfillment. MCP currently has part-time (minimum of 15 client contact hours per week) and full-time openings for pre-licensed clinicians (Mental Health Clinical Trainees) who are accruing supervised clinical hours toward licensure in the state of Minnesota to practice independently in the following licensure tracks:
Licensed Psychologist (LP)
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
Telehealth, in-office and hybrid options are available. Positions are for pre- licensed Independent Contractors (1099).
Many clinicians at MCP focus on evidence-based treatments. However, clinicians with all theoretical orientations are encouraged to apply. Pre-licensed clinicians receive clinical supervision from licensed clinicians at MCP and provide services consistent with their supervisor’s/supervisors’ areas of competence. Currently, these areas include: Individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, skills groups, psychological testing, clinical interviews/assessments, cognitive behavioral therapy, Exposure Response Prevention (EXRP), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Eye Movement and Desensitization Processing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). MCP clinicians can join MCP’s Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) team, which is certified by MN DHS (open to both seasoned DBT clinicians and clinicians who want to learn DBT). Although a wide range of experiences are available to pre-licensed clinicians, many pre-licensed clinicians seek out MCP to gain experience and build competency in DBT. It is common for pre-licensed clinicians to maintain their practice at MCP following licensure and several of our licensed clinicians started their work at MCP as pre-licensed clinicians.
