    Trattoria Delia is looking for a Prep Cook!

    Trattoria Delia is looking for an experienced Prep Cook to join the team at our busy downtown Burlington restaurant. As a Prep Cook at Trattoria Delia, you play a key role in our restaurant because you’re in charge of all the preparation of the various components that go into our delicious cuisine, including fresh pasta, bread, meats, antipasti and more. You'll work primarily mornings and afternoons in the Trattoria Delia kitchen, transforming local and imported ingredients into the elements of the delicious artisanal Italian cuisine that keeps people coming back again and again!

    Responsibilities:

    ● Prepare the elements of Trattoria Delia's menu items, including fresh pastas, bread, vegetables, meats and cheeses ● Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment, work surfaces and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices ● Having previous experience as a cook, you can manage multiple priorities at once ● Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, labeling and dating stored foods, keeping track of old and new items and rotating stock ● Season and cook food according to recipes ● Respond to guest and staff feedback and requests with appropriate urgency and professionalism

    Qualifications:

    Previous experience with restaurant cooking, especially bread and pasta-making, preferred

    Effective communication skills

    Ability to lift 30+ lbs.

    Ability to work standing for 6+ hours
