Job description Seeking to employ a full time pre-k 3 head teacher with at least one year expereince in that specific position. The shift is from 8:30 to 5:30, Monday through Friday. Must have knowledge and understanding of age-appropriate expectations for this age group.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn
Offer aid to children when needed and in a timely manner
Prepare and execute lesson plans and activities to reflect ESDS curriculum
Facilitate individual and small group work so that students can enjoy a more specialized learning experience.
Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners
Work with children to improve both their academic and social skills
Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children
Support our center’s success by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement
Monitor duties to ensure that student injuries are avoided and equipment is not damaged or used improperly.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
Must have at least one year experience as a head teacher with experience in lesson planning appropriate lessons for the specific ages of the children in the group.
Must understand how to develop pre-reading and pre-writing skills apporpriate for this age group
Possess a basic understanding of child development
Have good classroom management skills
Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and discovery go hand-in-hand
Outstanding customer service skills
CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
Meet state specific guidelines for the role
Physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors.
Assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
Ability to speak, read, and write English, fluently
Engage children in activities through the use of a multitude of modes: animated story telling, singing songs, an energetic presence, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20 per hour dependent on degree, certification, and experience.
