Job Description
La Scuola International seeks Preschool/Early Childhood Education Assistant Teachers with some knowledge and interest in practicing the Reggio Emilia approach, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Early Years and Italian Language Immersion. Applicants should be strong team players, very proactive and flexible.
We are particularly interested in teachers with experience in the Reggio Emilia Approach and International Baccalaureate (IB) Early Years framework. The teacher will support and implement the daily program in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the School under the supervision and direction of the Division Director and the Head of School.
Role & Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Ensure students are joyfully and safely engaged in classroom activities and outdoor play;
Support head teacher(s) and specialists with overall classroom management and supervision;
Collaborate with the teaching team to work with children in small groups and individually, and to plan and implement lessons;
Guide student behavior patiently and supportively; Provide age-appropriate social-emotional instruction and support to students;
Organize and set up the classroom environment, equipment, materials for nap, games, art, crafts, science, and outdoor activities;
Manage children and systems during nap, play, class, lunch, outdoor time;
Communicate observations and insights to Head Teacher(s); support weekly classroom documentation;
Maintain an encouraging and positive attitude with students and colleagues.
Qualifications
_ Minimum Qualifications_
Early Childhood Development Course Completion* (or in progress), or 2+ years experience working with young children;
4 core classes of Early Childhood Education (ECE):
Introduction to the Field of Child Development (3 units) CDEV 65
Child Growth and Development (3 units) CDEV 53
Child, Family and Community (3 units) CDEV 67
Curriculum for Young Children (3 units) CDEV 66
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Education preferred;
Bilingual and bi-literate in Italian and English with native or near-native Italian proficiency.
*Assistant teachers will be required to complete 12 units of Childhood Development during the first year of employment.

Additional Information
** Start date: **August 1, 2025
** Salary Range: **$30 - $38 per hour, commensurate with experience and credentials.

_ Additional Information_
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. Prior to beginning work and as a condition of employment in order to comply with the law, all employees must provide documentation to prove eligibility to work in the United States.
Final candidates will need to pass both Criminal Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance and a physical exam, and provide a recent copy of a negative TB test and other immunization records.
