We are looking for an experienced Preschool Chef who is passionate about creating nutritious meals that fuel young minds and bodies.
Job Description:
As our Preschool Chef, you will be responsible for preparing balanced, nutritious, and child-friendly meals and snacks for children aged 1-5 years old. You’ll work closely with our staff to ensure meals meet dietary restrictions, health standards, and are as appealing to children as they are healthy. No nights, No weekends, and No major holidays!
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare daily meals (breakfast, lunch, and snacks) for preschool children in accordance with state nutrition guidelines.
Ensure meals cater to various dietary needs including allergies, religious preferences, and food intolerances.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment following all health and safety regulations.
Order food supplies, manage inventory, and stay within budget guidelines.
Create engaging, fun, and age-appropriate meal presentations to encourage healthy eating habits.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to support any special events or celebrations requiring food preparation.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a chef or cook, preferably in a preschool, school, or childcare setting.
Knowledge of child nutrition and special dietary requirements.
Must be able to pass a FBI Fingerprint Background check and all Childcare Licensing regulations
Certification in ServSafe Food Manager certificate. (must get certification within 60 days)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing time and resources effectively.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Passion for healthy cooking and child wellness.
Must be able to work M-F from 645am-245pm
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a childcare or educational setting.
BOH Restaurant experience in the kitchen
Familiarity with CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) guidelines.
