The Teacher should have
A passion towards Early Education and its possibilities to foster life-long love of learning.
A Love for children and commitment to education.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field. Master's Degree a Plus!
At least 2 years of experience as an Early Ed Teacher; practice in informal groups also count!
A keen eye towards providing a healthy and safe learning environment.
OTHER ESSENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS/CERTIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Must be able to lift, hold, or carry up to 25 pounds.
Must be technologically savvy. Familiarity with a Smart Board is preferred.
Must undergo Infant and Child CPR/First Aid certification training.
MAT certification a plus.
JOB DUTIES: The Teacher’s core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Execute curriculum goals and lesson plans of the school with creativity.
Assist in developing/polishing curriculum into continually upgraded lesson plans.
Communicate effectively with children, staff, administration, and parents.
Implement safety, health, and licensing policies and procedures as applicable.
Prepare and implement classroom lesson plans, program, and schedule, develop, plan, and prepare instructional aids / materials for classroom activities.
Prepare and develop weekly newsletters.
Ensure that appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of classroom.
Complete all school and classroom paperwork including daily notes, attendance reports, ongoing progress reports, student assessments and portfolios.
Attend weekly meetings with the Director(s), staff meetings as organized, parent meetings, open houses, and marketing events as required.
Assist and supervise children during all activities. Counsel children through social interaction, academic encounters, and transition periods.
Assist children with meal times and clean-up. Promote and model good hygiene habits.
Be responsible for cleanliness of classroom and bathroom by sharing light cleaning duties with other staff. These tasks include, but are not limited to, trash removal, cleaning floors, classroom organizing and pick up, and sanitizing toys and table tops.
Ensure that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly.
Communicate appropriately to parents. Duties include maintaining developmental profiles for students, making oneself available to parents to address all parent concerns, and scheduling and conducting 4 parent-teacher conferences throughout the year.
Maintain a classroom information board and other classroom bulletin boards.
Develop strong parent participation by inviting parents to occasionally participate in classroom activities / classroom luncheons etc.
Attend required staff training as mandated by licensing.
Able and willing to fill in / help out during staff absences in any capacity/role.
Maintain a strict confidentiality regarding children and their families. Maintain professional conduct in working with parents, staff, and visitors.

8 AM - 6 PM ( 8 work hours).
