    Wise is a leading manufacturer of labels, business forms, and digital printing. Our core focus is on building strong relationships with distributors of printed products. Founded in 1969, Wise operates five regional manufacturing facilities located in Georgia, Indiana, Maine, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina, serving the eastern half of the United States.


    We are looking for a Press Trainee to join our team in Alpharetta, GA. Under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor and Production Manager, the Press Trainee will play a vital role in the efficient preparation and high-quality printing of labels and tags. You will work closely with our production team while operating printing machines to prepare final products printed on paper.

    Job Duties:

    Primary Duties

    • Operate printing machines, such as offset lithographic presses, to produce printed materials on paper.
    • Monitor material feeding, inspect, and tend to printing machines and materials.
    • Clean and lubricate printing machines and components (e.g., rollers, reservoirs, sheeters, folders) using oils, solvents, brushes, rags, and hoses.
    • Blend and test inks according to the type of material being printed and work order specifications.
    • Select and install printing plates, rollers, perforations, punch tooling, and cylinders in the machine according to specifications, utilizing hand wrenches and other hand tools.
    • Review work orders to determine the necessary ink, stock, and equipment for production. - Pack and label cartons, boxes, or bins of finished products.
    • Monitor run speed, paper feed, ink wells, water fountain reservoirs, finishing equipment, and any other factors necessary to maintain specified operating levels and detect equipment or material malfunctions.
    • Maintain daily reports and records regarding time, materials usage, and information printed on manufactured products and parts.
    • Inspect and examine printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, integrity of perforations, hole punches, and other related items.
    • Read and interpret work instructions, safety guidelines, job instructions, tickets, and other work-related materials.
    • With appropriate training, make necessary adjustments to equipment to meet or exceed company job specifications.
    • Perform basic math for setups, including calculations for cores, boxes, and material requirements.
    • Follow written and verbal instructions while working safely to prevent workplace injuries. - Be familiar with small tool adjustments and the use of lift equipment.

    Job Qualifications, Requirements, and Experience

    • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and kneel throughout the work shift.
    • Strength and stamina to lift 50 pounds repeatedly during a normal work shift. - Ability to read a ruler.
    • Competent math skills.
    • Ability to distinguish colors.
    • Effective communication skills with others.
    • Basic knowledge of equipment function, tools, mechanical devices, and their applications for producing motion, power, and technology.
    • Basic understanding of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, costs, and techniques for optimizing the manufacturing process.
    • Availability and willingness to work overtime as needed to meet customer delivery demands.
