BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB: Provides clinical leadership and over-site to the professional support staff. As a Physician, provides health care services to patients.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Board Certification/Recertification (preferably) or Board Eligible in Specialty, Internal Medicine, Family Practice.
- Completion and maintenance of annual CME requirements for licensure (CME should be relevant to provider scope of medicine).
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state.
Clinical Care:
- Provides supervision and leadership for the medical support staff and clinical operations.
- Provides direct patient care and supervises FNP’s in accordance with the specific medical specialty job description.
- Maintains current licensure and board certifications.
- Maintains after-hours availability for staff consultation on patient care issues as relates to policies and procedures.
- Contributes to team effort by fulfilling on-call duties and hospital hours, if applicable.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
- Performs patient care responsibilities in accordance with the highest and generally accepted professionalism shown.
- Effectively communicate with other providers to ensure continuity of care.
Team Work:
- Ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members to build and enhance teamwork among provider staff and in the overall Health Center organization.
