    I Dream PCS Mission

    I Dream PCS co-designs purposeful, self-directed learning with children and families, so they have voice and choice on the path to discovering and pursuing their dreams.

    The Principal serves as the instructional leader to create joyfully rigorous teaching and learning at I Dream PCS. The Principal is charged with guiding Lead Coaches and Coaches* to implement the selected academic and social-emotional learning (SEL) curricula, and to manage the assessment protocols that give learners opportunities to have voice and choice in learning. The Principal supervises and develops Lead Coaches and Special Education Coaches. The Principal leads the evaluation of the effectiveness of the instructional program as it aligns with the mission of I Dream PCS. In short, the Principal's primary responsibilities are to ensure I Dream PCS effectively delivers a strong academic and social-emotional learning program for all learners and staff, in partnership with families and communities.

The role of coaches at I Dream PCS is a critical example of our commitment to transform relationships between learners and themselves, the curriculum, and the community.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the balanced focus on the implementation of academic and social-emotional learning curricula, teaching practices and learning outcomes:

      • Plan and facilitate differentiated learning opportunities for Lead Coaches, Special Education Coaches and Coaches in the summer and during the school year to ensure implementation of academic and SEL curriculum with integrity.
      • Collaborate with curriculum and Special Education consultants for instructional coaching and curriculum implementation.
      • Plan and facilitate Data Days, lead the analysis of learner data with instructional staff to inform lesson planning and classroom instruction.
      • Coach and advise Lead Coaches on how to professionally delegate responsibilities within to supervise and coach the Coaches in their classrooms.
      • Coach the Lead Coaches to facilitate Grade Level Meetings.
      • Lead the Instructional Leadership Team meetings.
    • Create and facilitate Peer Observation and Learning Lab opportunities for instructional staff as part of professional learning and development.

    • Attend Learner Update and Learner Success Team meetings as the instructional consultant.

    • Manage and update the school-wide Scope and Sequence and Assessment calendar.

    • Lead the process for administering assessments (including NWEA MAP and PARCC) and disseminating assessment results to staff and families.

    • Set annual instructional and staff development goals and metrics with the School Team. Present progress on annual goals to families and the board during the school year.

    • Ensure that all aspects of the school experience promote equity, inclusivity, and cultural responsiveness, making decisions that align with the school's vision of fostering belonging, collaboration, and opportunities for students and staff to dream and achieve their fullest potential.

    • Have a community approach demonstrating being a team player with all stakeholders; Create a safe and supportive environment where all members of the school community feel valued and heard.

    • Set and manage budgets associated with curriculum, instruction, learner activities and supplies.

    • Participate in hiring teams and on-boarding processes for staff throughout the year.

    • Other duties, as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Education or other relevant advanced degree is preferred
    • 3+ years as a PK-5 school administrator, preferably in an urban setting
    • Experience with restorative justice practices
    • Experience with and understanding of IDEA law and Special Education services
    • Results driven, solutions-oriented leader with a commitment to ensuring the academic and social-emotional success of all learners
    • Experience facilitating professional development
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Experience with Creative Curriculum, EL Education, or Context for Learning Mathematics is a plus
