Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Platform Integration Engineer with expertise in Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) integration and server platform hardware interfaces to support and integrate BMC solutions on customer platforms. This role will involve working closely with customer engineering teams to customize and validate BMC functionalities, with a focus on I2C, eSPI, and GPIO protocols. You will play a crucial role in interpreting customer requirements from engineering documents, performing schematic reviews, and ensuring seamless integration on their server platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Work directly with customer engineering teams to understand platform requirements and integrate BMC firmware with customer-specific server hardware.
Customize and optimize BMC configurations to support customer requirements, including monitoring, diagnostics, and hardware control via I2C, eSPI, and GPIO interfaces.
Develop and validate firmware that supports management protocols like IPMI and Redfish for effective remote management tailored to customer platforms.
Review customer-provided hardware schematics to identify integration points, signal routing, and BMC-related components.
Analyze server engineering documents to interpret customer-specific requirements and translate them into BMC configurations and implementations.
Identify and resolve any discrepancies between BMC firmware and customer hardware specifications, collaborating with customer engineering teams for alignment.
Use I2C, eSPI, LTPI, and GPIO interfaces to gather data from sensors, control server hardware, and respond to hardware events.
Collaborate with both internal teams and customer engineering teams to ensure cohesive BMC integration that meets customer expectations and specifications.
Qualifications
Educational Background: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience: 10+ years in platform integration, embedded systems, or hardware engineering with hands-on experience in BMC and server hardware integration.
Technical Skills:
BMC Firmware: Strong knowledge of BMC firmware architecture, including protocols such as IPMI and Redfish for remote server management.
Communication Protocols: Proficiency with I2C, eSPI, and GPIO interfaces for hardware control, monitoring, and communication.
Hardware Diagnostics: Familiarity with hardware diagnostic tools, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and bus analyzers.
Experience with C/C++ for firmware-level programming is a plus.
Proficient in root-cause analysis and troubleshooting issues with hardware interfaces (I2C, eSPI, GPIO) and BMC functions.
Strong customer-facing skills, with the ability to interpret requirements, troubleshoot, and communicate technical details effectively.
