    JourneyTeam is looking for an experienced and motivated Principal Solution Architect to join our Azure/AI team! In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions for our enterprise clients. You will develop and execute Azure-based cloud strategies aligned with clients' business objectives, design complex, multi-tiered cloud architectures using Azure services, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to client teams and junior architects. Additionally, you will conduct cloud readiness assessments and migration planning, optimize existing cloud infrastructures for performance, security, and cost, and stay current with Azure technologies and best practices.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute Azure-based cloud strategies aligned with clients' business objectives.
    • Design complex, multi-tiered cloud architectures using Azure services.
    • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to client teams and junior architects.
    • Conduct cloud readiness assessments and migration planning.
    • Optimize existing cloud infrastructures for performance, security, and cost.
    • Stay current with Azure technologies and best practices.

    Qualifications:

    • 8+ years of experience in Enterprise IT, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture.

    • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services and technologies.

    • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles.

    • Experience with cloud security, compliance, and governance.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    • Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104 or AZ-305) strongly preferred, will be required to obtain within 6 months of hire.

    • Azure infrastructure services (VMs, Storage, Networking).

    • Azure PaaS offerings (App Service, Functions, Logic Apps).

    • Entra ID and Identity Management.

    • Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

    • Infrastructure as Code (ARM templates, Terraform).

    • Cloud security and compliance frameworks.

    Preferred Skills (not required):

    • Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architecture.
    • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Azure Kubernetes Service).
    • Familiarity with data and analytics services in Azure.
    • Understanding of cloud cost optimization strategies.

    30 Days:

    • Complete onboarding and familiarize yourself with JourneyTeam’s mission, values, and Azure/AI team dynamics.
    • Study current client projects, Azure architecture standards, and identify areas for improvement.
    • Shadow and Build Relationships: Join team and client meetings to establish relationships and observe processes.

    6 months:

    • Obtain AZ-104 and AZ-305
    • Lead multiple Azure architecture projects, delivering scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions aligned with client business goals.
    • Conduct comprehensive audits on client infrastructures, implementing optimization strategies for performance, security, and cost savings.
    • Develop and refine JourneyTeam’s Azure best practice documentation, focusing on cloud security, governance, and multi-tiered architecture standards.
    • Take an active role in mentoring junior architects, providing guidance on complex Azure solutions and encouraging technical growth.
    • Ensure positive client feedback by delivering high-quality solutions and acting as a trusted advisor.

    1 Year:

    • Spearhead cutting-edge Azure/AI solutions that address client challenges and leverage the latest Azure technologies.
    • Implement initiatives to continuously improve JourneyTeam’s Azure services, including regular updates to architecture standards and best practices.
    • Act as a strategic partner for key clients, deepening relationships through consistent delivery, strategic insight, and value-added solutions.
    • Host at least two technical workshops or presentations on emerging Azure trends, tools, or successful project case studies.

    Compensation:

    $150,000 - $160,000 (dependent on demonstratable skillset alignment to our open position as well as geographical location)
