  • Responsibilities

    As a SERVPRO First Responder, you will be a vital part of the team helping homeowners and business owners recover from fire, smoke, and soot damage. While this position is focused on restoring properties to their pre-loss condition, you will also provide exceptional customer service and work collaboratively with a team of restoration professionals to deliver high-quality results.

    You will be ready to respond immediately to fires that have occurred, particularly in situations where SERVPRO or similar restoration companies are called in to mitigate damage after the fire has been extinguished.

    Actively seeking new jobs related to fire damage restoration, i.e., going from one emergency job site to another after fires have been reported.

    First Responders may be "chasing fires" across multiple locations, particularly in areas where fires are. They may travel from one fire-affected location to another, working long hours to help restore homes and businesses.

    The job might involve being available on short notice to handle emergencies and may require technicians to travel frequently or work irregular hours.

    Maintain clear communication with property owners, explaining the fire restoration process and offering empathetic support during a stressful time.

    Assist in documenting the fire damage for insurance claims, taking photographs and inventorying affected items and areas.

    Collaborate with other SERVPRO teams (e.g., demolition, cleaning, reconstruction) to ensure that restoration is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

    SKILLS

    Experience with fire damage restoration and understanding of techniques used to clean, restore, and protect properties after fire damage.

    Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment (e.g., air movers, dehumidifiers) and materials.

    Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with customers in a professional and empathetic manner.

    Ability to assess damage and determine the best methods for restoration, working quickly and efficiently under pressure.

    Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with other technicians and supervisors to complete projects on time and to customer satisfaction.

    A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive company vehicles to job sites, sometimes under tight timelines.

    Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as fire damage emergencies can happen at any time.

    This is a full-time position working varying hours between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position requires longer hours, and must have flexibility in hours due to business needs.

    1099 Employment is welcomed.
