Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Private Banker to cover the entire state of Oklahoma, with the flexibility to sit out of either Tulsa or Oklahoma City. In this role, you’ll step into a small book of business and have the opportunity to grow it, establishing a high-touch, relationship-based private banking service for mid-level high-net-worth clients. With a primary focus on low-rate mortgages and personal banking services, this is a unique chance to build a comprehensive client portfolio from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and expand relationships with clients who meet our target profile of $250k+ annual income and $1 million net worth (excluding personal residence), focusing on high-touch services and low-rate mortgage solutions.
- Customized Banking Solutions: Offer specialized financial services, including an innovative fixed-rate mortgage product with an unlimited re-price option, providing clients flexibility to re-price down the road for a fee.
- Credit and Lending: Recommend credit and lending solutions tailored to each client's needs; as a relationship banker, manage a portfolio of in-house mortgages held on our balance sheet.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the commercial lending team to generate private banking business from commercial portfolios, deepening relationships across the organization.
- Risk Management: Adhere to all regulatory and internal policies, ensuring compliance and upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity.
- Client Onboarding and Documentation: Ensure a seamless onboarding process, managing all required documentation to be compliant with industry standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in private banking, wealth management, or a related financial services role
- Expertise in personal banking services and credit underwriting, with a focus on mortgage lending
- Excellent relationship-building and client management skills
- Ability to work independently, creating and expanding a book of business in a self-directed manner
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or relevant financial certifications (e.g., CFP, CFA)
- Background in private banking for mid-level high-net-worth clients
- Proven track record of collaborating with commercial lending teams for business generation
