    Background: LDR is a private equity firm focused on investing in micro-cap industrial manufacturing businesses. Our ideal investments have $2-7mm of EBITDA and are clear market leaders providing mission-critical, customized B2B Industrial products. LDR maintains its headquarters in Houston, TX, where this position will be based with an expectation of a hybrid remote/office presence.

    Position Description: As an Operations Senior Associate, you will play a pivotal role on our operations team, contributing to growth and professionalization of our portfolio companies. You will work closely with senior team members and be deeply involved with our portfolio companies, not only monitoring performance, but also participating in critical value creation initiatives. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the private equity industry and contribute to the growth and success of our firm.

    Major Responsibilities:

    Ensure efficient and thorough implementation of the “LDR Common Action Plan,” a slate of tools to optimize portfolio company performance, through direct collaboration with assigned portfolio company general managers and then senior sales, marketing, and finance leaders at portfolio companies to drive proactive decision-making in-line with LDR strategic goal for such portfolio companies.

    Supports assigned portfolio companies in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation processes.

    Collaborates closely with the LDR’s Investment Team to evaluate and monitor assigned portfolio company strategic plans relative to the platform thesis.

    Identifies and advises assigned portfolio companies on process improvements and strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability across various functional areas such as sales, marketing, finance, and customer success via operating systems like Entrepreneurial Operating System for Business.

    Analyzes portfolio company benchmarks of relevant KPIs, identifies opportunities for improvement, and drives change within the portfolio.

    Spend frequent time on-site at portfolio companies learning about each business and developing strategies for growth and optimization specific to each company, especially in the development of multi-year plans and annual budgets.

    Collaborate with vendors to implement properly & utilize consulting resources where near-term sprints or other efforts are needed periodically at portfolio companies

    Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual investor reports, as well as other ad-hoc reports and analyses as required.

    Skills / Characteristics:

    Understand and implement operational systems (i.e., Entrepreneurial Operating System) to drive financial, sales, and operational strategy

    Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and capital structures, including the ability to create comprehensive financial models required to evaluate operational initiatives and growth plans

    Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)

    Ability to comfortably interact (often independently) with portfolio company senior management

    Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

    Requirements:

    Successful candidates will have the following attributes:

    Strong academic credentials and achievement

    5+ years of experience in Consulting, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or in an industrials-related operations or leadership role

    Experience collaborating with senior leadership across a wide array of tasks

    Preferred:

    Experience in vendor or supply chain optimization and management

    Experience in sales & marketing or digital advertising strategies

    Experience working in Industrial Manufacturing settings

    Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

    Comfort with periodic travel to portfolio company locations
