    Our probate and estate planning law firm is seeking a candidate who shares our firm's purpose of helping families navigate the complexities of the legal world after they have lost a loved one. We need an organized and detailed paralegal who will be an integral member as we lead our clients through the process of probate or trust administration. We need someone who is compassionate, empathetic, and finds purpose in helping people through difficult times. No worries, we will train you and you won't be left to "figure it all out" on your own! You will assist with the drafting and preparation of legal documents, e-filing court documents, scheduling appointments and hearings, handling office correspondence including answering phone calls/texts and emails, and ensuring all deadlines are met on time. Ultimately, you will work with our team and have clients who you will develop a relationship with as you aid them with their legal and personal needs. This position offers purposeful work as we help families who are going through one of the worst periods of their lives by giving them guidance, direction, and peace of mind. It is a relational position too, as you will get to know our teammates, clients, and their families. We host an awesome Christmas Party and Wine Tasting too. Responsibilities: • Setting appointments and preparing initial correspondence packets to send to prospective clients • Assisting in the transferring of assets, which entails detailed correspondence and communication with clients, financial advisors, and financial institutions • Notarizing various estate administration documents for clients • Preparing asset schedules for estate and trust assets, which requires a working knowledge of Excel and an understanding of various types of financial statements • Assisting clients with completing life insurance claims, updating beneficiary designations, drafting deeds • E-Filing court documents • Communicating with various courts, clients, witnesses, and other attorneys to set hearings • Tracking the stages and deadlines associated with each estate • Preparing estate administration binders for clients at the end of each administration • Scanning, sorting and filing estate administration documents and mail • Answering phone calls from prospective and current clients • Learn and utilize new technology, including artificial intelligence • Communicate with potential clients who call or request firm information • Maintain confidentiality • Attend firm client and team events • Full-time, in-office (no remote work) Qualifications: • Comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products • Some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is required • Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment • 1-2 years of prior experience in a law firm environment as a paralegal or administrative assistant, or a graduate of a certified paralegal program Compensation: $24 - $27 hourly
