We are in search of a skilled and versatile Probate Trust Administration Attorney to become a part-time member of our esteemed estate planning law firm located in Ventura, CA. This position will involve handling probate and trust administration duties, with potential participation in litigation. The perfect candidate will possess the ability to navigate the intricacies of estate administration, offer expert legal counsel, and advocate for clients in both non-contentious and contentious matters. Responsibilities: • Maintain a large caseload and manage cases from inception through closing • Assist clients in the administration of trusts, ensuring proper distribution of assets to beneficiaries • Independently handle day-to-day decision-making on assigned cases • Negotiate and draft settlement agreements when applicable • Develop case strategy and provide leadership and direction to Paralegals and Legal Assistants regarding casework • Regularly consult with clients and third parties to effectively move cases forward and to a successful conclusion • Perform monthly case reviews to ensure clients receive proactive communication • Enter client notes and billable time into the Case Management System • Conduct intense point-related research and analyze case-specific legal issues to prepare documentation • Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences to advocate for clients’ interests • Work collaboratively with the team, including staff members at all levels of experience and knowledge • Cultivate relationships with the Firm’s clients • Adhere to the Firm’s policies and procedures Qualifications: • Graduate from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law for the state(s) in which working • Be in good standing with the California Bar Association • Litigation experience in probate and trust administration Compensation: $35 - $50 hourly
