We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procedure Coordinator. The coordinator will be responsible for authorizing and scheduling procedures for patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to multitask, and work well under pressure.
Responsibilities:
· Schedule in office surgical procedures for patients, ensuring that all necessary information is obtained and entered accurately into the system
· Communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate surgery dates and times
· Obtain necessary pre-operative testing and clearances for patients
· Obtains prior authorization on procedure orders.
· Adheres to Pain Care Physician’s Policies and procedures
· Ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available for each surgical procedure
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all scheduled surgeries
· Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families
Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in surgery scheduling
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
· Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems
· Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the medical field including basic medical terminology.
