  • Responsibilities

    This role involves a combination of project management and process engineering improvements. The primary focus is on reducing loss, enhancing operations, and increasing efficiency on the production floor.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead process and equipment improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve quality and safety, eliminate loss, and minimize production downtime.
    • Measure product quality and develop process control strategies to achieve operational targets.
    • Assist with technical training for operating teams, ensuring consistent application of processes and effective problem-solving techniques.
    • Act as a liaison between R&D and Operations to plan and coordinate plant tests, product commissioning runs, process changes, or implementation of new processes.
    • Oversee all phases of capital projects, including front-end engineering, scope definition, factory acceptance, start-up management, and training/transfer to operations.
    • Develop project cost estimates and manage projects to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
    • Resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with all engineering standards and codes.
    • Maintain and organize technical documents, including drawings, line layouts, P&IDs, and schematics.
    • Stay current with new technologies and apply them to improve operations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
    • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with PLCs and instrumentation is preferred.
    • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean principles is a plus.
    • Strong project management skills, including managing vendors, contractors, and engineering firms.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, and complex environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to teach and lead others.
    • Flexibility to work off-shift or weekends as needed and to travel occasionally for projects.
    • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety guidelines.
