    Job Description

    ** Broad Function and Purpose of Position:**

    The design, implementation and optimization of equipment and manufacturing processes for all new and existing products in mortars operations from inception through to completion. Continuous improvement of processes in order to maintain and improve safety, quality, supply and efficiency.

    • Process and equipment assessment, design and installation incl. capital budgeting strategies. Initiate, plan, execute and control implementation through to completion.
    • Evaluate and re-design processes to improve production, quality and packaging efficiency, reduce operating costs and complexity, improve safety and ensure compliance with regulatory aspects.
    • Operations monitoring and data analysis, process capability studies using statistical techniques, capacity planning and make vs buy assessments. Optimize all phases of production process.
    • Technology transfer from R&D: Introduction of new raw materials and products, pilot batch studies and production scale-up. Perform risk assessments and follow Sika’s PCP process.
    • Provide process documentation/reports, operational procedures, manufacturing recipes, work instructions, and train employees as necessary.
    • Troubleshoot in daily plant operation, utilize the problem-solving process to determine root cause. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Leader or key member of project and process teams. Responsible for project cost and timeline.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • BS or MS degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering with a minimum of three years’ experience in manufacturing, quality, and process optimization.
    • Excellent technical skills.
    • Analytical thinker and data driven.
    • Strong hands-on commitment. Passionate attitude with an innovative mind frame.
    • Leadership and interpersonal skills to drive project teams to success.
    • Strong customer and quality focus. Effective communication skills.
    • Working knowledge with creating SOPs, P-FMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams. Strong understanding of automated control systems and P&IDs. Experience in statistical process control.
    • Proficient in MS Office programs (incl. MS Visio, MS Project) and Minitab. Strong computer skills.
    • Experience with Automotive OEM customers, delivering presentations, ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 standards, and internal or external auditing preferred but not required.
    • Some domestic and/or international travel may be required.
