Product Manager, Life & Disability
A leading health and wellness company providing affordable dental and vision benefits to over a million members across the state, is seeking a Product Manager, Life & Disability to support our growth and expansion. Reporting to the SVP of Marketing, the Product Manager will play a key role in helping DDAZ exceed customer expectations by offering innovative tools and services and other optimization that attracts their interest, elevates their experience, and improves healthcare outcomes.
This role will join a growing cross-functional team, supporting product development and management through all stages of the lifecycle. The ideal candidate will draw on significant life and disability experience to help define our product offering, collaborate closely with stakeholders on a go-to-market strategy, and drive future innovations in the category. This is a key addition to our staff and will play a pivotal role in the successful launch and growth of life & disability.

Essential Functions
- Conduct market research and analysis specific to life and disability insurance products.
- Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, customer behavior, and market opportunities.
- Liaison cross-functionally (legal/regulatory, underwriting, claims, marketing, group services, commercial growth) to operationalize the new product.
- Collaborate with peers to create internal training and serve as an in-house subject matter expert on life & disability.
- Develop strategies and tactics to define the offering, and to further optimize and create value in the category.
- Create detailed reports and presentations for management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
- Monitor and evaluate performance, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results.
- Utilize data analytics tools and platforms to extract insights and inform decision-making.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Statistics, or related field and/or equivalent experience, particularly in life and disability insurance.
- Proven experience in product development and management within the insurance industry, with a minimum of five years in life & disability.
- Conduct data and competitive analysis to evaluate performance metrics. Identify opportunities for product improvements based on data-driven insights.
- Interpret trends and patterns from complex data sets to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including managers, engineers, and marketers, to understand business goals and translate them into measurable objectives.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate findings.
- Assist in the planning and execution of new product and program launches.
- Communicate product plans, updates, and progress as appropriate, including to executives, customers, and partners.
- Participate and support Product Council to drive alignment, secure resources, and overcome impediments to meet business objectives and project deadlines.
- Additional tasks and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment across multiple departments.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Strong understanding of life and disability marketplace, benefits, and target audiences.
- Desire to jump in and learn new concepts to share with others.
- Experience bringing new products or capabilities to market.
- Preference given to candidates with related experience in healthcare, insurance financial services or other highly regulated industries.
- Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze data and business intelligence from all sources to build cases for product innovations
