Product Strategy Consultant
Overview
The Product Strategy Consultant plays a pivotal role in guiding clients through the intersection of business strategy, technology, and product development. This role requires a mix of consulting acumen, technical and product expertise, and strategic thinking to help organizations optimize their technology products and operational models. You will work closely with executive stakeholders, engineering teams, and product managers to define, implement, and improve technology-driven solutions.
What You’ll Do
Consulting & Strategic Advisory
- Act as a trusted technology and product strategy advisor to clients, helping them navigate digital transformation, product innovation, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct business and technology assessments, including visioning, transformation and process redesign, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop product roadmaps, defining strategic objectives and aligning technology initiatives with business goals.
- Lead workshops and discovery sessions with C-suite executives and stakeholders to align product vision and technical execution.
- Provide insights into market trends, competitive analysis, and industry best practices, helping clients stay ahead of disruption.
- Conduct interviews with client stakeholders and, at times, the client’s partners to gain understanding of needs, technology usage and adoption, challenges and gaps.
- Conduct demos of client technology and industry relevant technology and be able to highlight opportunities, gaps and best practices.
- Present findings and insights to C-Suite level stakeholders.
- Build personas to conceptualize and better understand user needs and motivation drivers when leveraging technology
Product & Technology Execution
- Bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring solutions are both strategically sound and technically feasible.
- Partner with engineering teams to define technical requirements, assess architecture, and evaluate system scalability.
- Extensive knowledge of backlog management, epics and stories and requirement gathering and documentation to drive clarity in development efforts.
- Extensive knowledge of agile events such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and product demos.
- Awareness of, and passion for, emerging technologies, AI advancements, and innovation trends, guiding clients on how to leverage them for competitive advantage
Project & Program Management
- Manage multiple client engagements, including resources on the project teams, ensuring on-time and high-quality delivery of product and technology solutions.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to measure product success, user adoption, and business impact.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with business goals.
- Support client engagement renewals by demonstrating measurable impact and value creation.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Translate technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language for executives and stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration between engineering, product, and business teams, ensuring a shared understanding of objectives.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to client teams on best practices in product management, agile execution, and technology adoption.
- Serve as a liaison between business leaders and technical teams, balancing strategic vision with execution.
- Build and cultivate client relationships in an effort to identify potential follow on opportunities and contribute to account management activities.

What We Need
- 4-7 years of experience in consulting, product management, technology strategy, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of product management principles, including backlog management, agile methodologies, and user research.
- Ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring effective execution of product and technology initiatives.
- Experience conducting market analysis, competitive research, and business process assessments.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple workstreams and deliverables.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives.
- Strong ability to storyboard, and create slides for, presentations and consulting deliverables
- Hands-on experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Google Analytics, and Tableau (or similar BI tools) is a plus.
- Experience in Transportation, Logistics, and/or Supply Chain is an asset, but not required
Other Details
- Travel up to 50%, depending on client engagements.
