    Discontinued and Slow Moving Product Strategy Manager Are you a strategic problem-solver who thrives on identifying inefficiencies and turning them into opportunities? We're looking for an Inventory Recovery & Closeout Strategy Manager to take control of our discontinued and slow-moving inventory (SMOG) and lead the charge to systemize, reduce, and profit from it. This high-impact role will identify slow-moving and obsolete products, build a system to track and manage them, and work across sales, marketing, e-commerce, and external channels to move this inventory fast — and profitably. You’ll be both the detective and the deal-closer, empowered to build new programs, find unconventional buyers, and create lasting solutions to ensure SMOG is never a drag on our business again. This is not a back-office inventory role — it’s a cross-functional, strategic, and action-oriented position with clear goals and huge potential impact. Responsibilities: • Analyze and identify discontinued, slow-moving, and pre-dropped inventory across the business • Build and manage an SMOG tracking and reporting system in coordination with purchasing, finance, and operations • Develop and implement sales, marketing, and e-commerce strategies to sell SMOG products quickly and profitably • Partner with sales teams and store managers to create closeout campaigns and bundles for customers • Create or manage listings on e-commerce platforms (Amazon, Wayfair, Overstock, eBay, etc.) and develop new channels for liquidation • Build relationships with bulk buyers, liquidators, contractors, and third-party sellers • Negotiate deals to maximize recovery and minimize warehouse drag • Collaborate with the marketing team to build campaigns and promotions targeting SMOG items • Build a repeatable, scalable system for identifying and dealing with SMOG on an ongoing basis • Report on progress, wins, revenue recovered, and opportunities for improvement Qualifications: • 3–5+ years of experience in inventory management, sales strategy, e-commerce, purchasing, or operations • Strong skills in data analysis, strategic thinking, and creative problem-solving • Knowledge of product liquidation, discount sales, or e-commerce marketplaces is a plus • Strong communicator and cross-functional collaborator • Ability to manage projects independently , work with urgency, and follow through • Comfortable with inventory systems, CRMs, and basic reporting tools • Bonus: Experience in building materials, home improvement, or distribution industries Compensation: $65,000 - $90,000 yearly
