Essential Job Functions of the Production Manager
The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling the manufacturing processes.
Ability to define new manufacturing processes parameters
Streamline existing manufacturing processes
Ensure proper functioning of processes and equipment
Plan and schedule production activities and supervise the production process
Ensure consistent and controlled production of products within established process times and quality standards
Ensure maintenance of cost effective and high-standard production
Monitor the production practices and set schedules as required
Work with other managers effectively to execute the polices and goals of the organization
Maintain and develop quality forms and work instructions in an AS9100 production environment
Keep informed of health and safety strategies
Distribute work orders to departments, denoting number, type, and proposed completion date of units to be produced
Liaise with different departments to prevent or mitigate potential production delays
Supervise and inspire a team of production workers
Education: Bachelor or Associate degree in a science/technology field is desired. High school diploma with relevant experience may be considered.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive production management experience.
Knowledge: Well-balanced technical background is desired. Detailed knowledge of a wide variety of processes is desired.
Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to safely weigh, mix and test ceramic and other materials and operate laboratory/manufacturing equipment. Some heavy lifting required.
