A Chemical/Materials manufacturing operation in Orange, TX, needs a Production Manager.

The position manages all aspects of day to day operation in a chemical plant. This is a medium-sized operation; part of a global company.

Ideal candidate can come from either maintenance/reliability or process/production engineering.

The Job:

• Directly manage 7 supervisors and a couple engineers in 24/7 continuous process complaint operation
• Ensure optimal and safe operation of the plant to maximize production
• Create and execute operating plan
• Extensive work with Maintenance/Reliability, Safety, Operations Manager, corporate, to ensure all works well!
• Documentation of all areas of the operating plant - PHAs, procedural audits, quality, production issues, etc.
• Fill in for plant manager
• Classic chemical-plant type setting with pressure vessels, reactors, pumps, environmental controls, etc, that all must work well with the attendant humans.

Required:

• 4 year degree in engineering; prefer mechanical or chemical
• Excellent understanding of chemical or similar manufacturing processes
• 5+ years in speciality chemical manufacturing or possibly refining.
• Several years of supervisory experience in that chemical/refining environment
• Able to safely and effectively work in an active and operating chemical plant setting
• Able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or visa

salary: $140k - $150k
