    Production Manager

     

    Wise is a leading manufacturer of labels, business forms, and digital printing. Our core focus is on building strong relationships with distributors of printed products. Founded in 1969, Wise operates five regional manufacturing facilities located in Georgia, Indiana, Maine, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina, serving the eastern half of the United States.


    We are looking for a qualified Production Manager for our location in Anderson, SC. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing production operations, leading teams, and implementing lean manufacturing principles. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring the efficient and high-quality printing of labels and tags.


    Anderson, SC Facility Info

    At our Anderson, SC facility, we print labels and tags using digital and flexographic (flexo) printing presses. Our products are used in many markets including Food, Beverage, Promotional, Retail, Chemicals, and Durable Goods to name a few.


     


    Primary Duties

    1. Leadership – Lead and direct the production team.
    2. People – Hire production personnel and ensure proper training to enable them to be productive operators. Support them and hold them accountable to production job results.
    3. On-Time Shipments - Ensure orders are shipped early or on time while managing the production schedule.
    4. Quality - Ensure quality standards are met. Implement corrective actions where necessary.
    5. Lean / Continuous Improvement - Suggest and implement process improvements according to lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
    6. Reduce Waste – Reduce the 8 wastes
    7. Equipment - Understand equipment capabilities and maintenance. Communicate with equipment suppliers.
    8. Safety – Ensure team members follow safety procedures while operating equipment and handling materials.
    9. Read and understand Job Tickets and other technical production documents.


      Secondary Duties

    10. Help manage raw material inventory.
    11. Communicate production supplies needed to purchasing personnel.
    12. Assist equipment operators to keep machines running, and jobs on-time.
    13. Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.


       

       

      Job Qualifications, Requirements, and Experience

    14. Exhibits strong moral character and integrity, grounded in values that promote ethical decision-making, accountability, and fostering a culture of respect, trust, and service to others.
    15. Experience in supervision in manufacturing environments.
    16. Experience in the printing or packaging industry preferred.
    17. Customer Service / Customer First Mindset – Possess a customer-first mindset developed from prior work experience.
    18. Teamwork – Ability to interact with both office and Production personnel in a professional manner.
    19. Communication Skills – Ability to communicate intellectually and effectively in a courteous and
    20. Organizational Skills – Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task to maintain established standards for performance.
    21. Math Skills
    22. Detail Oriented – Attention to detail and able to concentrate in noisy environments.

      10. Computer Skills – Effective typing and computer skills.

      11. Good physical condition with the ability to stand and/or walk for several hours consistently.

      Primarily 1st Shift Hours


      1st Shift

      Monday – Friday

      7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

      2nd Shift

      Monday – Thursday

      12:00 PM – 10:30PM


      Compensation and Benefits

      The pay rate is market competitive and dependent on experience level.

      Vacation time is negotiable but must be closely in accordance with the company handbook and other associates’ vacation time.
