Summary of Responsibilities
The Production Manager oversees remodeling projects from contract to completion. Key duties include pre-construction planning, scheduling, material ordering, site supervision, team management, client and trade relations, and handling production paperwork. The role also involves estimating projects and recruiting for the Remodel Division. This position requires a strategic leader skilled in organization, collaboration, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Essential Functions
Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and develop laborers, carpenters, and specialty trade partners. Oversee recruiting, training, and performance management in alignment with company standards.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols, conduct regular training sessions, and enforce compliance with L&I and light-duty requirements.
Scheduling & Planning: Oversee and adjust weekly crew schedules to meet project timelines, approve PTO requests as per policy, and handle pre-planning for efficient project execution.
Crew Development: Train and mentor team members, track their performance, and create tailored development plans to enhance skills and meet company goals.
Problem Resolution: Work collaboratively with Project Managers and sales teams to address and resolve project scope or material issues while ensuring client promises are fulfilled.
Personnel Management: Execute hiring, promotions, and terminations in line with budget and performance standards.
Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to and implement organizational goals and strategic projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Professional Representation: Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, fiscal responsibility, and best practices in all aspects of job execution and closure.
Active Engagement: Participate in team meetings, summits, and conferences, providing guidance and hands-on support when needed.
Asset Control: Monitor the asset control system, conduct bi-annual inventory, and enforce policies on asset purchases, maintenance, and protection.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
Minimum of 7 years in a Production/Project Manager role
12+ years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong background in carpentry
Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field as a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience with Builder Trend or similar construction project management software
OSHA certification is a plus
Compensation
Competitive Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year
