    Insero Talent Solutions is recruiting a Production Planner for a manufacturing company in Rochester, NY.

    Position Summary:

    The Planner (Planning and Scheduling) is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products, efficient utilization of resources, and alignment with customer demands. This role involves collaboration with production, procurement, and other departments to ensure smooth operations while

    minimizing downtime and inventory costs.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts, order priorities, and resource availability.

    • Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, equipment downtime, or other unforeseen issues.

    • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components needed for production.

    • Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.

    • Analyze production capacity and identify constraints or bottlenecks.

    • Recommend adjustments to optimize resource utilization, including labor, equipment, and materials.

    • Act as a liaison between production, procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure alignment and address scheduling conflicts.

    • Provide regular updates on production status, delays, or issues to stakeholders.

    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, on-time delivery, and inventory levels.

    • Prepare reports and analyses to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.

    • Evaluate scheduling processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.

    • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and support efforts to reduce waste and improve workflow.

    • Utilize and maintain the facility’s planning and scheduling software or tools (e.g., ERP, MRP).

    • Ensure data accuracy within the system to facilitate reliable planning and reporting.

     

    Qualifications:

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

     

    Experience:

    • 3+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.

    • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).

     

    Skills:

    • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

    • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.

    Certifications (preferred):

    • APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar.

    $90,000-$115,000 per year
