SUMMARY:
The Dry Plant Superintendent has overall responsibilities for production and safety, will supervise the Dry Plant team members and oversee daily operations of the processing of product that is aligned with the organization’s overall strategy. Will identify workplace hazards through workplace inspections, assess risks and conduct job safety analysis. Ensure team members are appropriately trained. Deliver task specific training as required. Observe, mentor, coach and develop team members ensuring job capabilities, competencies and program/policy application and use.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with changes, delays, or unexpected events at 24/7/365 operation.
- In charge of and accountable for all production output of the Dry Plant.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Responsible for correct reporting of plant metrics.
- Manage throughput, oversee all plant gradations, and produce quality products.
- Constantly perform workplace inspections.
- Improve plant availability and uptime through proactive measures and planned maintenance.
- Ensure that dry plant employees follow safety rules.
- Ensure proper communication occurs between plant and maintenance.
- Coordinate team members to ensure all areas are operated safely and efficiently.
- Lead weekly crew meeting covering safety, production, and manpower.
- Foster an environment where continuous process improvement initiatives are promoted.
- Implement process and safety standards and procedures.
- Coordinate and manage crew schedules.
- Ensure team members are skilled in the expected tasks to be performed.
- Perform maintenance, as needed.
- Assist with training and development of team members.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist operators in solving work problems.
- Approve all overtime prior to commencing.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Serve as an excellent Company ambassador and safety champion at all times.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma and/or GED
- 3+ years of manufacturing, mining, or aggregate environment
- 3+ years of supervisory and leadership experience
- Experience within Dry Plant operation is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong Interpersonal skills
