Job Summary
Receives production assignments and provides direction to subordinates guided by established policies and practices. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgement and overall quality and efficiency. Interprets and executes policies that affect production floor staff. Monitors production floor operations on a daily basis and actively assists, or provides direction to floor staff as needed.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Supervises a variety of assembly operations to assemble sub-assemblies and products
- Oversees the electrical and mechanical assembly of parts and components
- Reviews assembly procedures and makes necessary changes to them to increase quality and efficiency
- Schedules assignments and acts as technical advisor to Production Floor staff
- Train new employees
- Evaluates the performance of assigned employees
- Conducts quality and time studies and generates individual quality reports
- Inputs data into Production quality data base system
- Ensures and verifies documentation is in order and understood, such as production drawings, BOM’s, work order travelers
- Performs a variety of assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies such as modules, boards, panels and cables
- Responsible for quality as related to job duties, and has the authority to address issues of quality at any level
- Work with Quality, Environmental, H&S employees to ensure and maintain compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards of Quality
- Has the obligation to be aware of and comply with environmental, safety policies and regulations and endure duties of high-quality standards
Job Requirements
- High School graduate or GED; and/or minimum three years’ experience in assembly and manufacturing operations Must have demonstrated leadership skills through experience
- Ability to train and work well with others
- Excellent communication skills
Physical Demands
- The employee if frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, keyboards or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- The employee is occasionally required to walk frequently, sit; and may also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
