Our client, who has been servicing all branches of the U.S. Military for over 40 years, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their team. Renowned for their adherence to reliability and environmental standards across industries, particularly in aerospace, this employee-owned company stands out for its commitment to excellence.
The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage the staff responsible for metal shop operations, including the programming and operation of vertical and horizontal machining centers, as well as painting, plating, and various finishing processes. The Production Supervisor will also develop work schedules, assign tasks, and conduct training to ensure customer quality standards and delivery deadlines are met.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to metal shop personnel, ensuring job functions are performed effectively.
Oversee the direction, performance management, and coordination of department staff to achieve operational goals.
Develop and implement production schedules and process controls to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Monitor work progress to meet or exceed shipment schedules and revenue targets, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and timely delivery of quality products.
Collaborate with personnel across departments to ensure timely processing of components and finished assemblies.
Work closely with supporting departments to address and resolve quality issues, ensuring the manufacturing process consistently produces acceptable outcomes.
Implement process controls to improve efficiency and minimize waste using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, TPS, and 6S.
Lead and communicate improvement initiatives, driving buy-in at all levels to ensure successful execution.
Read, write, and update technical documentation, including procedures and work instructions.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree (preferred), or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing or metal shop operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office suite.
Strong ability to read and write procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
Knowledge and familiarity with CNC machining, plating, and metal finishing operations.
