Job Overview: The Production Supervisor will work directly with our Production Manager and oversee the day-to-day operations of the production floor, ensuring the efficient and safe manufacturing of paper straws. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality control, team development, and meeting production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the manufacturing process.
Monitor and maintain production schedules to meet or exceed customer demands and deadlines.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
Train, mentor, and motivate production staff to maximize productivity and maintain high-quality standards.
Conduct regular quality checks to ensure the finished product meets company and regulatory standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues or equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce costs.
Maintain accurate production records, including shift reports, inventory levels, and production statistics.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of machinery and equipment, and coordinate maintenance when necessary.
Communicate effectively with other departments, such as logistics and quality control, to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues.
Enforce workplace safety practices, including PPE requirements and proper handling of materials.
Lead and assist in the recruitment and hiring of production team members as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred, but not required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate a diverse team.
In-depth knowledge of production processes, safety protocols, and quality control.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot production issues.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and other departments.
Ability to analyze production data and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime or weekends, as needed to meet production goals.
Forklift certification and familiarity with warehouse management systems are a plus.
Bilingual (English & Spanish) strongly preferred
