JOB TITLE: Production Technician
JOB SUMMARY
Manufacture hollow fiber membrane products which includes machine set-up, chemical formulation, and preparation of fiber assembled into finished products. Troubleshooting of production problems and maintenance of production equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Operate spin line to ensure quality product is being produced.
· Accurate formulation of raw materials into production batches.
· Line set-up, start-up and shutdown.
· Maintain accurate records for use in trace packets.
· Perform MRP functions to maintain inventory accuracy of work-in-process and point-of-use.
· Analytical testing of raw material and production samples.
· Maintain clean work area.
· Cycle counting and assist in physical inventories.
· Prepare Engineering and special sample requests from Sales and Marketing. · Suggest improvements for processes and traceability. Suggest change order (CO) to implement improvements
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school education or equivalent
· Ability to perform multiple tasks.
· Ability to write legibly, read, and speak English and perform basic math functions. · This job requires frequent walking. Must be able to reach above and below shoulder height on an occasional basis. Occasional lifting, pulling, or pushing of barrels, bags, or totes weighing over 50 lbs is required. · This job requires occasional bending, stooping, crouching, twisting, or turning. Repetitive movement of both hands (firm or fine grasping) is required on an occasional basis. · This position requires exposure to hot water temperatures, consistent machinery noise, mechanical hazards, moving machinery, and chemical exposure requiring the mandatory use of personal protective equipment. · Good vision and manual dexterity are essential to perform duties. · Strong knowledge of computer office applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access preferred. · Knowledge of large-scale Management Resource Planning (MRP) systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems preferred. · Good communication skills required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Up to 100% sitting, standing and walking in an 8-hour workday, more if working overtime
· Ability to continuously wear personal protective equipment and/or clean room attire
· Ability to work overtime as required
· Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
· Ability to operate power tools/equipment and hand tools
· Ability to work with or around chemicals · Ability to use a microscope
