    Senate Media Services is accepting applications for six (6) On-call Intermittent Production Technicians positions for a newly formed team.

    This is a non-partisan position, and the expectation is that the successful candidate will remain free from political party affiliation, bias, or designation the duration of the appointment.

    Appointment Duration: This is an intermittent/on-call position for the 2025 legislative session, which begins on January 14, 2025 and will continue until the end of the 2025 legislative session in May, 2025.

    Reports to: Director of Broadcast Engineering and Operations

    Position Details

    The Intermittent/On-Call Production Technician assists in live television productions of Senate floor sessions, committee hearings, press conferences, and special events using a variety of video production equipment. This may include production switchers, robotic and ENG cameras, graphic systems, video recording equipment, and audio mixing boards. This position is not full-time or permanent. It is on an “as needed” basis during peak times of the legislative session (typically January through May) when additional staffing is required. Hours will vary based on availability. This includes days, nights, and weekends.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Act as a member of a production crew, performing duties as assigned
    • Operate a variety of television broadcast equipment, including production switchers, robotic cameras, graphic systems, video recording equipment and audio mixing boards.
    • Work closely with the permanent production staff to ensure that assignments and standards are being met.

    Minimum Qualifications

    One (1) year of experience in live and recorded broadcast/cable television news, sports, or industrial video production, or related.

    In addition to the qualifications listed above, applicants must demonstrate:

    • Ability to work in a non-partisan capacity, supporting all members and staff regardless of party affiliation or position.
    • Ability to work long hours and under pressure during the legislative session.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with Senate Media team.
    • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate among Senate staff and members.
    • Ability to learn quickly and retain information.
    • Ability to follow directions and perform assigned tasks.
    • Experience with basic office computer software including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams
    • Strong work ethic and ability to work under minimal supervision.
    • Experience in the technical and aesthetic production aspects of visual communications.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Training time will be limited therefore preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate any of the following qualifications:

    • Experience with any of the following: Ross Carbonite switchers, Ross Xpression graphics, and/or robotic cameras
    • Experience in government video production, city council cablecasting, etc.
