    Insero Talent Solutions is recruiting a Production Trainer for a fast growing food and beverage manufacturing company in Rochester, NY

    The Operations Trainer is responsible for delivering technical and operational training across the site to build employee competency and capability. Possessing a broad background in manufacturing operations within the sugar industry, the Operations Trainer teaches production and packaging employees, with the aid of standardized training documentation, the fundamental skills needed to perform their jobs. The Trainer works closely with the Plant Manager to develop technical and operational training documentation for employees. The Trainer is responsible for evaluating employee skills against training materials and expectations and coordinating training sign-off by the production management team. The Operations Trainer will also evaluate employees on a set frequency for skill proficiency and provide remedial coaching as needed. This role involves spending significant time engaged with our production floor operators/supervisors and operators to ensure training standardization and identify improvement opportunities.

    Essential Functions

    • Build a training plan based on the site requirements, including onboarding and training new employees and refresher and cross-training for current employees. Contribute technical knowledge, insights, and recommendations to aid in creating training documentation in multiple formats, including written SOPs, presentations, and videos that consistently deliver information.
      • Work closely with operations leaders, managers, and other departments to identify training needs and align training efforts with organizational goals.
      • Customize training programs to meet employees' specific needs and skill levels utilizing various pedagogies.
    • Partner with Managers, Supervisors, and Leadership to deliver technical training programs around Packaging, Production, and/or Maintenance.
    • Work hand in hand with operators to ensure understanding of documented operational processes and procedures.
    • Evaluate trainees for competency against training documentation and checklists.
      • Provide supplementary training and coaching when needed to ensure the trainees understand documented procedures and processes.
      • Sign off on required steps for trainees to complete training and work independently in core job duties.
    • Audit, spot check, and rectify compliance gaps on standard work instructions and training material where identified.
      • Proactively communicate problems and assist in their resolution.
    • Deliver and promote Train the Trainer training courses and ongoing coaching support to operators.
    • Utilizing the HRIS, track training in employee records, including certifications, compliance requirements, and skills assessments.
    • Always promote a positive atmosphere and culture.
    • Promote common Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S and Short Interval Control
    • Assures that the work produced consistently complies with all company, safety, and quality policies and local, state, or Federal regulations.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Previous experience as a subject matter expert with demonstrated ability to train others. Working knowledge of common training methods and techniques.
    • Strong time management and organizational skills, including experience tracking multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
    • Strong relationship-building and excellent written/verbal communication skills, including collaborating and communicating across departments. (Must be strongly proficient in the English language.)
    • Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
    • Demonstrated understanding of relevant Quality, Health, & Safety legislation and regulations, as well as proper handling of food-grade materials and comfort in a production environment
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on one's own initiative and to tight deadlines in a demanding environment.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; proficient in ERP and HRIS data entry and reporting.
    • Able to wear protective gear correctly during the workday.
    • Willingness and ability to work off-schedule hours, including early morning, evening, and weekends, as needed.

     

    Required Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or GED required. Technical or College degree preferred.
    • Six Sigma background preferred
    • Relevant industry experience is essential, particularly in a packaging or manufacturing maintenance role.
    • 3-5 years of experience in training required.

      $65,000-$95,000 per year
