The Yard Worker is responsible for supporting the operations of our prefabricated wall panel shop by maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the outdoor yard and material storage areas. This position involves operating machinery, performing physical labor, and ensuring materials are properly handled, stored, and transported. The role requires versatility, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Operation:

Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and other yard equipment safely and efficiently.

Drive the company flatbed truck to transport materials between locations as needed.

Material Handling:

Load and unload materials for production, delivery, or storage.

Ensure materials are stored in designated areas and protected from weather or damage.

Yard Maintenance:

Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing yard.

Perform basic landscaping tasks, such as mowing, trimming, and debris removal.

Regularly inspect and address potential safety hazards in the yard area.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Conduct daily equipment checks and report any maintenance issues.

Ensure the safe handling and storage of materials to prevent accidents.

General Support:

Assist with inventory management and tracking materials as needed.

Provide general support to the shop and production teams.

Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to prioritize tasks.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required for operating the flatbed truck).

Experience operating forklifts and telehandlers (certification preferred).

Strong physical stamina; ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Commitment to safety and following procedures.

Work Environment:

Primarily outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Requires physical labor, including bending, lifting, and operating heavy equipment.

May occasionally work extended hours to meet project deadlines.
