Overview: Curantis Home Care is seeking a compassionate, patient, and active live-in caregiver for an 84-year-old client with dementia residing in Harrisburg, PA. The client lives with her husband and requires assistance with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). This position also involves engaging the client in activities, taking her for walks, and providing companionship. The client has a small 15-year-old Shih Tzu, so candidates must be comfortable around dogs.

Responsibilities:

Provide assistance with all ADLs, including personal care, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.

Engage the client in activities, such as conversation, hobbies, and walks.

Prepare light meals and assist with feeding as needed.

Offer companionship and foster a safe, comfortable environment.

Monitor and report changes in the client’s condition to the care team.

Maintain a clean and orderly living space for the client.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with individuals with dementia.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with seniors.

Physically able to assist with mobility and personal care.

Must be comfortable with pets, specifically a small Shih Tzu dog.

Strong communication skills.

Reliable and attentive to the needs of the client.

Schedule & Compensation:

Live-in position with breaks and rest periods in accordance with all applicable state and federal labor laws.
