    General Description:

    Under the direct supervision of the Director, People Development, the Professional Development Generalist I is responsible for course development in-person and computer-based, and the implementation of learning programs for Parrish Medical Group Primary and Specialty Practices and other Parrish Healthcare departments as assigned. The Professional Development Generalist I shall cultivate and nurture Parrish Healthcare’s culture of evidence-based excellence. This position ensures that efforts are ongoing for continuous improvement in all assigned areas and Care Partners receive appropriate training and maintain job specific competency to ensure high quality safe care practices and healing patient experiences. This position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Plans, markets, develops, implements, and evaluates educational initiatives across Parrish Medical Group (PMG) and other assigned areas.
    2. Implements and conducts training based on evidenced based-practice standards for the purpose of ensuring high quality safe care practices, healing patient experiences and continuous quality improvement, in accordance with regulatory standards.
    3. Coordinates, plans, and implements education and development of new and tenured Care Partners to assure optimum patient-centered outcomes.
    4. Designs, develops, implements, and maintains new Care Partner orientation and onboarding.
    5. Ensures effective student experiences through reviews and evaluations.
    6. Develop and maintain education programs, including but not limited to: Medical Assistant tech program, Medical Assistant pathway training program, Athena training, etc.
    7. Builds and maintains collaborative partnerships with interdisciplinary departments.
    8. Serves as an administrator for the computer-based Learning Management Systems.
    9. Maintains educational files and assists with Care Partners performance improvement plans as needed for educational assistance.
    10. Participates in the evaluation of the competency process and ensures Care Partners are assigned appropriate competencies.
    11. Serves as a resource for Care Partners, providing just-in-time training, ongoing skills and competency training and plans and implements individual educational needs.
    12. Participates in process improvement activities using Lean Six Sigma methodology.
    13. Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
    14. Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area.

    Requirements: Formal Education:

    Vocational or other technical school, certification training or apprenticeship required (e.g. Medical Assistant certification required) beyond high school. Associates or beyond degree preferred.

    Work Experience:

    Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience.

    Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:

    Medical Assistant Certification required.

    BLS through The American Heart Association required.

    Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification is required to be obtained within one (1) year.
