    Job Overview:

    The selected Engineer will perform project management and professional engineering work. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the designated supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned

    Experience Requirements:

    • Minimum 1 year of experience in civil engineering and roadway design
    • Assisting with contract administration for Capital Improvement Projects for major highway improvement projects, bridges, paving sidewalks, etcetera
    • Preparation of scope of work
    • Consultant selection
    • Contract negotiations
    • Engineering design and construction plan review
    • Preparation of cost estimates
    • Public involvement and preparation of bid documents
    • Assisting with coordination of right-of-way acquisition for roadway and other projects
    • Provide right-of-way engineering support throughout roadway planning, roadway design, land acquisition and eminent domain process
    • Engineering contracts to support appraisal function
    • Assisting in developing cost estimates for
      right-of-way acquisitions
    • FDOT Standards experience

    Physical Requirements:

    • Required to travel up to 40 miles per week to include off-road travel

    • 62.5 cents per mile reimbursement

    Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
