    Description: The Nutrition Consultant is a part of the integrated wellness team at Integrative Health Management and will be based in the Orange County Office, including virtual visits to Integrative Health Management clients, to work collaboratively with the wellness team, registered nurse health management team and support staff to drive health improvement results. The Nutrition Consultant will support a results-oriented role and will work with our clinical team to help our clients achieve healthier lifestyles and to reduce health risk factors through our comprehensive, holistic wellness programs.

We are looking for a dedicated professional who can inspire positive changes in clients’ lives through their expertise in nutrition and passion for promoting achievable positive health outcomes.

    This position will be primarily focused on working with the collaborative clinical team providing nutrition counseling specific to the client’s individual health and wellness goals. Health advocacy and health coaching are important components of Integrative Health Management’s holistic approach to healthcare, empowering clients to self-advocate and manage their health, bringing value both to those individuals and Integrative Health Management. The Nutrition Consultant candidate requires a team player who can successfully partner with the clinical health management operations team to support innovative health management program development and implementation.

    This position will start out part time and lead to a full-time position.

    Reporting Relationship Reports to Director of Health Management

    Responsibilities/Activities

    As a Nutrition Consultant with Integrative Health Management, your responsibilities will include comprehensively assessing the client’s needs and developing customized nutrition. plans. You must be highly qualified and knowledgeable in relevant areas and capable of providing personalized solutions that are in line with the organization’s program protocols.

    Assisting clients with healthy eating habits and weight management goals

    Utilizing a functional medicine perspective encompassing a whole person, holistic strategy.

    Advising and presenting a balanced nutritional strategy

    Discussing and advising on weight management plans and options

    Assisting clients with nutritional goals and offering sound nutritional plans for optimizing health

    Recognizing appropriate behavioral change modifications and dietary approaches for different ages and populations

    Evaluate the dietary needs of a client by assessing their health and exercise levels, sleep, stress level and food habits etc.

    Clarify information to clients and explain the effects of nutrients on overall health condition.

    Offer counseling and suggest positive alterations in nutrition to address clients’ dietary restrictions.

    Create full and personalized nutrition plans that promote healthy lifestyles.

    Set clear objectives and provide support to clients to help them in their progress.

    Conduct scientific research to expand field related knowledge such as the impacts of nutrients, the benefits of diets to body’s functions etc.

    Write and publish articles to educate the public while supporting organizational social media communication.

    Present Integrative Health Management educational topics to both individual clients and group sessions, including live and virtual platforms.

    Have experience in implementing special meal plans for specific health related matters including gut issues, purification, autoimmune disease, and women’s health.

    Required Skills/Abilities

    Proven experience as nutrition professional

    Thorough understanding of biochemistry and human physiology

    Good understanding of research methods and data analysis

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Creativity and critical thinking

    Degree in nutritional science, dietetics, or relevant field

    Valid license or certification to practice the profession of nutrition consultant.

    Knowledge and experience in meal planning as it relates to individualized needs.

    Education/Training

    May require related experience.

    Bachelor’s degree in nutrition Preferred
