Jazz Hands For Autism is a young nonprofit organization. Founded in May 2014, we are a talent advocacy group with a mission to provide avenues for musicians on the autism spectrum to turn their passion for music into a line of income..
We are seeking dedicated and skilled program coordinator for the Jazz Hands Musicians Academy (JHMA), a music-based vocational program that uses a strength-based approach to empower musicians with autism and amplify their voices by providing necessary resources and avenues that will assist them with forging a rewarding and career path as a working musician. JHMA provides individualized music lessons, performance training and wrap-around artist development services and performance scouting for individuals with autism who are looking to improve their musicianship and begin a career as a musician.
Position: Program Coordinator & Job Coach (Jazz Hands Jobs)
Full Time/ Part Time: Part Time (Up to 30 hrs/ Week)
Pay: $25/hr
Job Overview:
The Program Coordinator & Job Coach (Jazz Hands Jobs) role with Jazz Hands for Autism is responsible for overseeing the Jazz Hand Jobs program and serving as an onsite Job Coach. This position is responsible for overseeing the coordination and implementation of the Jazz Hands Jobs programs ensuring student success and effective partnership building.
Job Responsibilities & Duties:
Program (Jazz Hands Jobs)
Responsible for Jazz Hands Jobs program connecting students with careers and jobs in the music industry a minimum of monthly meetings with all students enrolled in JHJobs
Responsible for curating and maintaining a list of eligible students and potential work, internship, apprenticeship and mentorship placements.
Responsible for management of established student gigs, ensuring they are meeting goals set out for them by Jazz Hands and partners (including renewing contract agreements with existing employment partners and creating proposals for potential employment partners).
Serves as an on-site Job Coach for students at partnership sites (travel required)
Engaging in planning, development and submission of Students’ placement progress reports and employment goals for each musician
Developing effective job coaching plans (student on-the-job independence plans) and employment plans
Being the on-site liaison between the Job site and the job seeker (student)
Assisting people with disabilities in developing social skills, work-adjustment skills and life skills
Oversee peer tutoring sessions (if applicable)
Track vocational Goals/ On-site Job Coaching:
Assessment of: student goals, strengths & barriers
Interventions used during job coaching
Interventions used to promote: completion of job tasks, development of motivation and skills, job search techniques, accommodations at job site
Photos and media content for students’ portfolios
Maintain information about Musician’s On-Site Job Performance via:
Audience/ Learner Surveys
Semi-Annual Pre/Post Survey from employers and other on-site stakeholders for long term job site partnerships
Photos and media content for musicians’ portfolios
Administration/Office Support
Some weekly administrative support of Jazz Hands Studio needs required. (required to be on site at Jazz Hands Studio at least twice a week).
Responsible for administrative tasks of Jazz Hands Jobs.
Responsible for submitting students’ job and placement progress reports in a timely manner.
Responsible for communicating with staff, students, and stakeholders in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Skills:
Prior experience in Program Coordination.
BA, or equivalent relevant experience, or a combination thereof in business, management or related fields
Must be available to work from Jazz Hands For Autism educational studio at least twice a week
Must be available to work on Saturdays occasionally.
Must be willing to become RBT certified
Must be willing to become ACRE certified
Must have the following characteristics:

Must be able to complete an Introduction to Autism Online Course within 30 days after the work start date.
Experience with working with people with disabilities/autism is a plus.
Must be able to travel to and from job sites and Jazz Hands Studio.
Must have a valid drivers license and access to stable transportation.

SCHEDULE & TRAVEL
This position requires a flexible schedule with occasional evenings or weekends required for special events or meetings.
This position is required to travel locally on occasion to liaise with potential employment partners.
