As part of the Foster Success team, the Program Coordinator - Workforce will advance the organization’s mission by ensuring teens and young adults who have experienced foster care have access to career readiness and workforce opportunities that put them on a path to a good and promising job.
This position will report to the Assistant Director of Workforce Readiness and will facilitate work readiness classes and on-the-job training programs, develop job/work experiences, and assist in connecting teens and young adults transitioning out of foster care to employment and other resources.
This position will work closely with Foster Success’ Workforce team to grow the Workforce Readiness Impact Area through outreach efforts, program facilitation, career coaching, and program evaluation/improvement. The coordinator will manage the recruitment of participants, deliver the workforce readiness curriculum, mentor participants as they navigate the workforce, and implement data management processes with the Assistant Director of Workforce Readiness.
This position will begin full-time, in-office (based in Indianapolis), and will have an opportunity to become a hybrid or remote position.
Primary Responsibilities
**40% Program Administration & Training: **Deliver workforce readiness training curriculum, which includes topics such as: career exploration, resumes, cover letters, interviews, workplace communication and conflict resolution, etc. Assist in the management and delivery of the workforce classes including preparing relevant program content, recruiting eligible participants, collaborating with the development team to recruit volunteers, securing supplies, technological supports, and space. Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Workforce Readiness to manage peer leader participation to ensure preparedness for program class sessions.
35% Career Coaching and Barrier Navigation: Work one-on-one with Workforce participants to develop goals and objectives in a personalized employment plan. Assess career challenges and troubleshoot barrier busting strategies with program participants. Provide personalized feedback on job search documents and mock interviews. Assist participants in finding and maintaining meaningful employment consistent with their goals. Refer young people to employer partners, training partners, and career development resources. Develop and distribute job search resources for young people with foster care experience. Collaborate with Foster Success team members for resource referral and navigation.
25% Data Reporting and Tracking: Assist the Assistant Director of Workforce Readiness in building and maintaining the Foster Success Salesforce data system to collect participant information and track related outcomes. Prepare and maintain case files, records, reports, and forms accurately and completely in real time.
Bachelor's degree OR 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience working with diverse populations of young individuals.

Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes some weekends and/or evenings in order to meet organizational goals.
Hold a valid Driver’s License and have access to a vehicle or the ability to rent a vehicle for work-related travel.
