Job Title: Program Director for Aquatics and Wellness
Position Summary:
Provides leadership support to the Senior Executive Director including the following areas: aquatics, wellness, annual campaign and general branch support.
Essential Functions: · Establishes new program activities and expands existing programs to meet needs of the organization and the community. · Oversite of Wellness Coordinator, providing leadership for a comprehensive wellness program. · Designs, develops, and disseminates aquatic and wellness-oriented communications to attract and retain membership, and further community involvement in YMCA activities. · Monitors, establishes schedules, and assigns staff responsibilities for pool maintenance and operation to meet all state, local, and YMCA health and safety regulations. · Supervises and conducts training in a range of pool related activities including lifeguarding, swim instruction, first aid, and CPR. · Organizes, conducts and schedules pool activities including swim classes, water fitness classes, swim team practices, and swim team meets. · Conducts safety and risk management evaluations; provide corrective action; communicate areas of concern for further action including new or enhanced training, equipment upgrade or maintenance, and personnel or procedure changes. · Interfaces with parents, members, and staff on issues, suggestions, and programs. · Supports the organization of member events, represents organization throughout the community and supports in Annual Campaign fundraising events and initiatives · Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.

Qualifications: · Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, or related areas, or a combination of training and experience managing a high activity level aquatics program. · Experience in planning and directing a wide range of aquatic centered programs. · Ability to create marketing and communications programs. · Experience in dealing with, and resolving, a wide range of customer issues. · Experience in professionally dealing with safety issues and emergencies. · Proven capabilities in effectively communicating with support personnel. · Currently hold, or readily obtainable, current required certifications. · Experience in recruiting, leading, and developing high performance team members.
Physical Demands: · Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights. · Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing, or walking for various lengths of time.
